Thursday's Itinerary of Intrigue-
Please join us at 6pm to get this party started! 'The Music Issue' release party will kick off with an introduction to the nights proceedings and the opportunity to meet everyone involved with the magazine, as well as to take a moment to settle into the cosy surroundings of Faaji and have a leisurely drink.
Then at 6.15 the cabaret will truly commence with our live Photo Shoot! Witness the wonders at work when our team of professional stylists, make-up artists beautify our already beautiful models and our leading photographer capture them as they strike a pose. This will be a highlight of the evening for anyone interested in the industry (all aspiring fashionistas arrive promptly) or anyone with an artistic eye and natural curiosity.
Between 6.15 and 7.00pm our team will be taking the audience on a trip to the heyday of our nation's capital as they re-create key and ever classic looks from the swinging 60's. If all this reminiscing down an imagined memory lane (for those unfortunate to not be born the first time round) reminds one of what a great era this decade was for music and creates a lyrical longing, right on cue, at 7.00pm, we have arranged the dynamic vocals and expert guitar techniques of Gaz Twist to entertain audiences.
Gaz has played with the likes of KT Tunstall, Pete Doherty and Georgie Fame (!) toured the US and is currently working on a debut album with the band Mr Twist - working with Editors producer Gavin Monaghan, due out in May 2010. He is also recording and producing several artists in his North London studio. Then at 7.20 until 8.00 our high-fashion photo-shoot will return with our next pioneering trend of Afro-Bohemian Chic, think feminine tailoring, daring prints, colourful eccentricity. Then at 8pm rock outfit Komla will be taking to the stage and fusing soul and funk and psychedelic elements into the mix. Then from 8.20 until 9.00pm it's ships ahoy with the Sailor Girls & Gents showcase. Again our models will be transformed from nice into nautical and you can enjoy all the fun of the sea from the comfort of a candlelit lounge.
The concluding theme for the photo-shoot hardly needs an introduction but is in anticipation of one the film and fashion features of the summer 'Sex and the City 2'. So be assured that the evening will end in glamour and quite likely with a cosmopolitan. But the night is still young, you still have the lovely lyrics and beautiful voice of soulful songstress 'Delilah'. Then with all the entertainment over everyone can relax and partake in a little bit of dancing.
We have Dj Joe Jamato who caters for every musical taste so there is no excuse not to strut your stuff! Joe is a self-taught musician since the age of 12, he has been always involved with music. After forming and playing with several bands he ended up to buying his first computer. From that moment he started to be seriously involved with djing and producing electronic music. He made his first moves as a dj playing chill out music and drum and bass when these genres were still unknown and underground. In 2001 he moved to London where he set up his own dance record label Logicalnoise with 3 different genres involved chill out, drum and bass and techno house. As a producer he has remixed artists such as Kate Bush and Tina Turner. We are extremely thrilled to have him dj-ing for the entirety of the photo-shoot.
Order tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the night!
